MacKenzie King are pleased to be recruiting for a Bookkeeper to sit within the Trusts and Tax team at a highly reputable legal firm with offices across East Anglia. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper looking to broaden their exposure to private client, trust, and tax-related accounting within a supportive professional environment. The position will suit a confident Bookkeeper with strong core accounting skills who has proven experience managing trust accounts.
The successful candidate will be required to work in the Bury St Edmunds office at least one day per week.

Key tasks and responsibilities
*Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a range of clients
*Preparation of estate accounts, through to completion
*Record financial transactions including assets, liabilities, income and expenses
*Produce annual trust accounts and income distribution statements for trustees and beneficiaries
*Liaise with executors, trustees, beneficiaries and HMRC regarding estate and trust matters
*Ensure compliance with probate accounting standards, trust law and regulatory requirements
*Assist with inheritance tax calculations, trust tax returns and ongoing tax compliance
*Maintain organised records and documentation for all estate and trust files
Qualifications and experience
*Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role, preferably in legal, estate or trust administration
*Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping
*High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
*Knowledge of UK Inheritance, Income and Capital Gains Tax
*Understanding of probate, trust administration and trust taxation
*Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
*A collaborative team player with strong communication skills
