Job Description:
SEND Tutors Required (EOTAS / Alternative Provision - Wokingham Area)
We are currently seeking qualified teachers and experienced tutors to provide 1:1 and small-group tuition to primary and secondary-aged pupils across Wokingham and the surrounding areas.
This provision supports young people who are currently outside of mainstream education, including pupils accessing EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) arrangements, as well as learners requiring additional support due to SEND and/or SEMH needs.
Tuition may be delivered face-to-face, online, or through a hybrid approach, depending on the needs of the learner and individual assignment.
There is currently a strong demand for tutors across the area, with ongoing referrals from local authorities and schools.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available.
This is an excellent opportunity for tutors seeking flexible work while making a meaningful difference through personalised support outside of a traditional classroom setting.
Assignments may include:
* Delivering tuition across core subjects including English, Maths, and Science
* Supporting pupils from KS1 through to KS5
* Working with learners with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
* Delivering sessions within homes, schools, community venues, or online
* Many assignments offering up to 5 days per week (approximately 3 hours per day)
We are currently supporting a growing number of EOTAS referrals within Wokingham, with demand expected to continue throughout the remainder of the academic year and increase further from September onwards.
Please note, this is not a permanent full-time position. The role is offered on a zero-hours basis, with work assigned as and when tuition sessions become available.
Student Profile
You may support learners presenting with:
* SEMH, anxiety, or school avoidance
* Autism (ASC), ADHD
* MLD, SLD, or PMLD
A calm, adaptable, and relationship-focused approach is essential.
What We’re Looking For
* QTS / QTLS or strong relevant tutoring experience
* Experience supporting SEND, EOTAS, or alternative provision learners
* Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
* Two professional references
* Strong safeguarding knowledge and awareness
* Ability to travel locally within Wokingham and surrounding areas
What This Opportunity Offers
* Flexible assignments to suit your availability
* The opportunity to provide personalised and impactful support
* Ongoing referrals and long-term tutoring opportunities
If you are looking for flexible tutoring opportunities where you can have a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
