Job Description:
Engineering Manager - Manchester (Hybrid)
£90,000 + Bonus + Benefits
The Role
If you’re motivated by driving real change within a fast-moving, product-focused environment, this Engineering Manager role offers a genuine opportunity to make an impact. You’ll lead a cross-functional engineering team, delivering high-quality software at pace while helping to embed modern engineering practices and ways of working.
The Transformation
The organisation is well underway on a large-scale digital transformation, evolving into a modern, technology focussed business. Following the migration to a proprietary platform in 2024, there has been significant investment to support a product-led, Agile approach. They are now looking for leaders who can continue this journey, improving delivery maturity and building a stronger, more consistent engineering culture.
What You’ll Lead
*A cross-functional agile team of Developers and Test Engineers.
*Delivery of the team’s backlog, ensuring a balance of speed, quality, and sustainability.
*Close collaboration with Product to align feature delivery, technical quality, and operational stability.
*Ownership of the team’s technical direction, ensuring alignment with broader architectural strategy.
*Adoption of modern engineering and QA practices across the full lifecycle - with a clear "you build it, you run it" mindset.
*Development of individuals through coaching, performance management, and fostering a positive team culture.
What You Bring
*Proven experience leading and developing agile engineering teams.
*A data-driven approach to delivery, with a strong grasp of engineering and QA best practices.
*Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
*Background in either C#/.NET or modern JavaScript frameworks.
*A genuine interest in improving ways of working and driving continuous improvement.
What’s On Offer
*The opportunity to shape and influence engineering standards within a fast-paced organisation
*Dedicated training budget for both you and your team
*£90,000 salary
*Hybrid working in central Manchester
*Competitive benefits package
