An opportunity for an experienced Risk Officer to join a large public sector organisation on an interim basis, supporting the delivery and embedding of operational and corporate risk management. This role offers hands-on exposure to directorate and corporate risk registers and the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders.

Our client is a large, complex public sector organisation with a diverse range of services and a strong focus on effective governance and assurance. The organisation is continuing to strengthen its risk management framework and is seeking an experienced interim professional to support this work during a busy period of change.




Description
*Support the delivery of an effective risk management service through engagement with officers across the organisation
*Assist the Corporate Risk & Assurance Manager in embedding risk management activities across directorates, with a focus on directorate risk registers and the corporate risk register
*Support the implementation of the organisation’s risk management strategy, frameworks, processes and working practices in line with best practice
*Provide practical risk management advice and constructive challenge to officers at all stages of the risk management cycle
*Facilitate discussions to identify, assess and review risks, ensuring documentation is completed in line with agreed standards
*Produce clear, high-quality reports following directorate-level risk discussions for escalation where required
*Support the delivery of risk management training alongside internal and external trainers


Profile


*A minimum of twoyears’ experience working in a risk management role
*Strong working knowledge of risk management principles at both strategic and operational level
*Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex risk issues clearly
*Confident engaging with, influencing and appropriately challenging senior officers
*Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
*A recognised risk management qualification is desirable but not essential






Job Offer
*Interim contract of 3 to 6 months, with the view to extend
*Day rate circa £300 - £350 per day Inside IR35
*Hybrid working arrangement with 1 to 2 days per week on site in Nottinghamshire
*Exposure to corporate-level risk management within a large public sector environment
