We are seeking a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to join a specialist SEMH school catering for pupils from primary through secondary age. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment.
Key Responsibilities*Opening and securing the school site daily
*General site maintenance, repairs, and minor DIY tasks
*Ensuring health & safety compliance across the school grounds
*Carrying out regular site checks and risk assessments
*Managing heating, lighting, alarms, and basic facilities systems
*Liaising with contractors and supervising works on site
*Supporting the wider school team as required
Essential Requirements*Proven experience in a similar caretaker or site manager role (essential)
*Experience working within a school or educational setting preferred
*Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
*Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
*Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
*Calm, professional manner suited to an SEMH setting
