With industry-leading facilities including a fully operational farm, equine centre, wildlife park and specialist animal facilities, the College is passionate about developing the next generation of land-based professionals.

The College is now looking for an Animal / Livestock Tutor to join the Foundation Learning Department at the York campus. Working with Level 1 and Level 2 learners, you will help students develop practical livestock and animal care knowledge while supporting their confidence, employability skills and progression opportunities. The role combines practical and classroom-based teaching in a highly rewarding environment where you can make a genuine difference to learners’ futures.

The College is looking for somebody with hands-on industry experience who can inspire and support learners. You could come from a range of backgrounds including Livestock Farming, Beef or Dairy Farming, Stockperson work, Herdsperson roles, Shepherding, Animal Care or wider agricultural environments. Previous teaching experience is not essential as full teacher training and ongoing support can be provided.

The Role:

*Deliver practical and classroom-based Animal / Livestock sessions
*Support Level 1 & 2 learners within Foundation Learning
*Help learners develop industry skills, confidence and progression pathways
*Support learners with additional learning needs and EHCPs
*Assist with student development, work placements and enrichment activities
*Contribute to departmental events and learner recruitment activities
*Full teacher training and ongoing development provided

The Person:
*Background within Livestock, Farming or Animal Care
*Could come from roles such as Livestock Farmer, Stockperson, Herdsperson, Shepherd, Beef Farmer or similar
*Passion for supporting and developing others
*Wants to move into a more structured and rewarding environment
*Teaching experience beneficial but not essential
*Motivated, positive and learner-focused mindset
