The RoleThis is a vital, full-time position as an SEMH Support Worker, specifically based within a dedicated In-School Inclusion Provision (ISIP). Starting immediately and running until the end of the academic year, you will work on the front lines of pastoral care. Your primary mission is to support students who find mainstream classroom settings overwhelming due to social, emotional, or mental health barriers. You won’t just be managing behaviour; you will be mentoring, de-escalating, and providing a safe haven where students can regulate their emotions before successfully reintegrating into their lessons.

Essential Requirements:
*Experience: Proven track record working with SEMH, ADHD, or ASD in an educational or youth work setting.
*DBS: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
*Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional under high-pressure situations.
*Eligibility to work in the UK.
Professional Skills*Conflict resolution and mediation.
*Active listening and therapeutic communication.
*Patience and emotional intelligence.
*Adaptability to changing classroom dynamics.
*Strong organisational and time-management skills.
*Confidence in setting and maintaining boundaries.
Key Responsibilities*Provide 1-to-1 and small group support within the ISIP.
*Deliver structured interventions focused on emotional regulation and social skills.
*De-escalate challenging behaviours using approved, positive handling strategies.
*Act as a key mentor for a caseload of students with complex SEMH needs.
*Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and parents.
*Facilitate the smooth reintegration of students back into mainstream classes.
*Supervise students during break and lunch times to ensure a safe environment.
*Collaborate with external agencies and pastoral leads to implement Support Plans.
*Create a nurturing atmosphere within the inclusion unit.
*Promote the school’s core values of leadership, discipline, and respect.
