Job Description:
Lead with Compassion, Care with Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietician to join the team on a part time basis. Salary for this role is £50k on a full time basis. However, this role is based on 16 hours per week pro rata £.
Waterloo Manor Hospital is the largest female personality disorder service in the United Kingdom, providing specialized assessment and treatment for women with complex mental health needs.
Job Purpose
*To assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ nutritional needs, providing evidence-based dietary advice to support recovery, improve health outcomes, and promote overall wellbeing.
*Clinical Assessment & Care
*· Assess patients’ nutritional status and dietary needs
*· Develop and implement personalised nutrition care plans
*· Monitor and review patient progress, adjusting plans as needed
*· Provide specialist advice for patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and eating disorders
*Patient Support & Education
*· Educate patients, families, and carers on healthy eating and nutrition
*· Support behaviour change and promote long-term healthy habits
*· Deliver one-to-one consultations and group education sessions
*Multidisciplinary Working
*· Work closely with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
*· Contribute to patient care plans and clinical reviews
*· Provide nutritional input during ward rounds and case discussions
*Documentation & Administration
*· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
*· Use electronic health systems to document care and outcomes
*· Prepare reports and contribute to audits or service evaluations
*Health Promotion
*· Support public health initiatives and nutritional awareness programmes
*· Develop resources such as meal plans, leaflets, and guidance materials
Person Specification
*Essential Qualifications & Skills
*· Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition
*· Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
*· Strong communication and counselling skills
*· Ability to interpret clinical data and apply nutritional science
*· Good organisational and time-management skills
*Desirable
*· Experience in a clinical or mental health setting
*· Knowledge of specialist diets (e.g. enteral feeding, weight management)
*· Understanding of psychological aspects of eating behaviours
