We are seeking a passionate and caring Early Years Teaching Assistant to help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners.
About the Role:
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering play-based learning and daily routines within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). You will assist in developing children’s social, emotional, and educational skills, helping to lay strong foundations for lifelong learning. This role is ideal for someone enthusiastic about early childhood development and able to adapt to the needs of young children.
Responsibilities:
*Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based EYFS activities
*Assist in setting up and maintaining a safe, stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment
*Provide one-to-one and small group support, particularly for children with additional needs
*Support children with personal care routines where required (e.g. toileting, hygiene)
*Encourage children’s social, emotional, and communication development
*Observe and record children’s progress in line with EYFS framework
*Supervise children during activities, playtimes, and transitions
*Promote positive behaviour and inclusion within the setting
Requirements:
*Enhanced DBS check on the update system (essential)
*Experience working with young children, ideally within an EYFS setting (desirable)
*Understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development
*Strong communication and nurturing interpersonal skills
*Ability to work as part of a supportive team
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*First Aid qualification (preferred)
*Additional childcare or early years training (preferred)
Working Conditions:
*Full-time or part-time hours available
*Classroom-based role within an Early Years setting
*Involves active engagement, including floor play, outdoor activities, and supporting young children’s physical needs
