Shift Patters / Working Hours:
Days (38 hours): Monday - Thursday: 7:15am - 16:00pm & Fridays 7:15am - 12:15pm.
Nights (40 hours): Monday - Wednesday: 18:00pm - 6:00am & Thursdays 16:00pm - 20:00pm
Night working hours are paid at a premium of x1.5 (£23.37).
*day/nights are alternate each week*
General Summary of Role:
The role will be responsible for machining sensitive aerospace components in line with the master production schedule to customer drawings working with exotic aerospace materials.
Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
*Work to close tolerance on small batch work predominantly fixture based in a wide range of aerospace materials such as Jethete, titanium and nickel-based alloys.
*Ability to learn multiple machines within the business.
*Understand and be able to interpret engineering drawings.
*Understand various machine controls like Heidenheim, Fanuc, Siemens etc.
*Use of overhead cranes for fixture transportation.
*Have a good level of computer literacy.
*Assist with SQDCP boards on a daily basis when required.
*Have a good understanding of manual measuring equipment, micrometres, internal and external and various other types of measuring equipment.
*Take extreme care and attention in handling aerospace parts.
*Maintain a clean and tidy work area
*Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
*Carry out TPM checks and assist on machine maintenance when required
*Support preventative actions on machine and fixtures maintenance
Experience, Knowledge, Educational and Work Achievements
*Experience in CNC turning on multiple types of machines.
*Demonstrate a good level of numeracy / literacy.
*Experience in self-inspection and recording results via SPC charts and other methods of data capturing.
*Be confidant leading a team and organising work priorities.
*A good understanding of Health and Safety.
*Ability to work individually or as part of a small team.
*Effective communication skills.
*Have a proactive and positive attitude to improvements and 5’s.
*Displays flexibility and adaptability. Willingness to improve on existing skills and learn new ones.
*Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
*A diligent person who works hard to achieve our company goals.
