Behaviour Support OfficerLocation: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Job Type: Full-time
Start Date: June 2026 (following May half term)
Contract: Initially until Summer, with potential extension into September

About the RoleVeritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a Behaviour Support Officer. This is a full-time position starting after the May half term, with the potential to continue into the new academic year in September.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to overcome behavioural barriers to learning and thrive within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities*Provide targeted behaviour support to students both in and out of the classroom
*Work closely with teaching staff to implement behaviour management strategies
*Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
*De-escalate challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
*Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
*Build strong, supportive relationships with students to encourage engagement
Requirements*Experience working with young people (school, youth work, care or similar setting)
*Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
*Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging behaviour
*A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
