Job Description:
Role: Technical Writer
Location: Remote with ad hoc visits to Welwyn, UK and Basel, Switzerland
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £350 - £400 per day PAYE basic (excluding holiday pay) or £463.53 - £529.75 per day UMB/LTD
Contract: Until the end of December 2026 - Outside IR35
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Writer to join one of our longstanding global pharmaceutical clients on a contract basis until the end of December 2026, outside IR35.
This role will focus heavily on documenting SOPs, operational workflows and internal processes, supporting the transition to a scalable and centralised documentation framework.

The Requirements:
*Previous experience writing and maintaining SOPs and operational documentation
*Strong understanding of documentation governance and process management
*Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences or technical environments
*Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
*Strong attention to detail and ability to simplify complex processes
*Experience working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities
*Familiarity with documentation systems, shared repositories or documentation-as-code practices advantageous
The Role:
*Create, review and maintain SOPs and operational documentation
*Document workflows, policies and business processes across multiple functions
*Work closely with SMEs to gather and structure technical information
*Standardise documentation templates and formatting
*Ensure documentation is accurate, compliant and easy to follow
*Maintain and update central documentation repositories and policy hubs
*Support process improvement and governance initiatives
*Contribute to the development of a scalable "One Source of Truth" documentation framework
