High Net Worth (Property) Loss Adjuster
Locations available - Midlands/Birmingham and London/Southeast
Overview:
We are working with a highly regarded, specialist loss adjusting practice operating at the premium end of the market, with a strong reputation for handling complex, high-value and technically challenging property losses for High Net Worth (HNW) clients.
This is not a routine domestic adjusting role - it sits firmly within the specialist private client/bespoke estates and luxury property space, dealing with sophisticated claims across prime residential portfolios, listed and heritage buildings, country estates, city penthouses, and high value contents schedules.
You will be entrusted with managing a varied caseload of HNW property damage losses typically ranging from £50,000 through to several million, including peril based claims such as escape of water in bespoke finishes properties, fire and smoke damage to architect-designed homes, subsidence in period or listed structures, theft of high-value contents, and complex trace and access investigations within luxury builds.

Key Responsibilities:
Claims Handling & Technical Assessment:
*Manage a portfolio of high value HNW property claims from first notification to final settlement
*Assess complex losses involving listed buildings, period conversions, high spec modern builds, and bespoke interior finishes
*Interpret intricate policy wordings, endorsements, and bespoke coverage extensions common within HNW wordings
*Determine indemnity, coverage position, and quantum with a high degree of technical accuracy
Investigation & Forensic Reporting:
*Conduct detailed on site investigations into cause, origin, and extent of damage
*Collaborate with forensic engineers, surveyors, restoration contractors, and specialist consultants
*Compile robust, insurer ready reports including causation analysis, reinstatement strategies, and reserve recommendations
*Evidence gathering including photographic schedules, room by room assessments, and detailed scope of works validation
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
*Act as the lead technical point of contact for HNW clients, often high-profile individuals requiring a discreet and highly professional approach
*Manage relationships with insurers, brokers, loss management consultants, and specialist contractors
*Provide clear, calm, and authoritative guidance throughout often sensitive or high pressure claim scenarios
Negotiation & Settlement:
*Drive negotiation of complex reinstatement schedules and cash settlement options
*Challenge contractor scopes and ensure accurate, cost-appropriate repair methodologies
*Achieve timely, commercially sound settlements while maintaining client service excellence
Technical Governance & Compliance:
*Ensure full compliance with FCA expectations, internal audit standards, and insurer protocols
*Identify policy interpretation issues and escalate complex coverage disputes appropriately
*Provide recommendations around risk mitigation and future loss prevention for high-value properties
What We’re Looking for:
*Minimum 5+ years’ experience in loss adjusting or complex property claims
*Strong exposure to High Net Worth, Private Client, or major domestic / complex residential losses
*Solid technical grounding in property damage claims, building reinstatement, and policy interpretation
*Experience handling high-value or technically complex perils (fire, escape of water, subsidence, theft, storm damage)
*Cert CII, Cert CILA, Dip CILA, ACILA, etc. is preferred, though not essential
*Excellent negotiation, analytical and client facing skills
*Strong written reporting ability with attention to technical detail and quantum accuracy
*Full UK driving licence
