Learning Support Assistant - Lambeth | September 2026
Location: Lambeth (near Clapham South / Abbeville area)
Start Date: September 2026 (potential to begin after May half term for the right candidate)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term
Pay: £95-£115 per day

The School & RoleA well-regarded and inclusive primary school in the Clapham area of Lambeth is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil entering Year 2 from September 2026.
The role will involve providing one-to-one support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who can present with some challenging behaviour at times. The school is looking for someone calm, consistent and proactive who can build a strong relationship with the pupil and help them access learning successfully within the classroom environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and outside professionals to implement structured support strategies, promote positive behaviour and support the pupil’s social and emotional development.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos and is known for its nurturing environment, supportive leadership and collaborative staff culture.
Key Responsibilities*Providing one-to-one support throughout the school day
*Supporting engagement, communication and classroom routines
*Managing behaviour using consistent strategies
*Helping the pupil access learning activities and transitions
*Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team
The Ideal CandidateThe school is looking for someone who:
*Has experience supporting pupils with ASD
*Is confident managing challenging behaviour calmly and positively
*Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
*Is patient, resilient and proactive
*Works well as part of a team
Previous experience in a similar one-to-one SEN role is highly desirable.
