Job Description:
GLL is looking for a Sailing Instructor to work at Stoke Newington West Reservoir Centre. If you have the skills and ambition to join us as a Sailing Instructor, this is a strong time to step into the role. This is more than an instructor job; it’s a long-term career in watersports.
A Sailing Instructor role carries real responsibility. You’ll lead sessions on, manage safety, and build confidence in sailors of all levels. If you stay calm under pressure, take responsibility, and work well with people, this role fits.
What you need:
*A can-do attitude
*Strong focus on customer service
*Clear communication and confidence leading groups
*Solid understanding of water safety and risk management
*Ability to work as part of a team
*RYA Dinghy Instructor Certification
*Valid RYA First Aid certificate
What you’ll do:
*Deliver structured sailing lessons following RYA syllabus
*Supervise participants on and off the water
*Carry out safety briefings and dynamic risk assessments
*Operate safety boats where required
*Set up and pack down sailing equipment
*Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment
*Provide clear feedback to help customers improve
*Handle customer queries in a professional way
*Support wider centre operations when needed
