We are currently looking for a Water Technical Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective management of all water systems across the hospital estate.
As the Water Technical Manager, you will:
*Lead the development, implementation, and continual review of Water Safety Plans (WSPs)
*Provide technical support to the Water Safety Group and act as the subject matter expert for water safety matters.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare water legislation, guidance, and standards including HTMs and ACOP L8.
*Manage water sampling, testing, and monitoring programmes across the estate.
*Lead preventative and corrective maintenance activities for water infrastructure, including tanks, pipework, outlets, filtration, dosing, and treatment systems.
*Lead the technical response to water quality incidents, contamination events, and outbreak investigations.
*Manage and supervise specialist water hygiene and engineering contractors, ensuring competence and contractual compliance.
We are looking for:
*Proven experience in a Facilities Management / Building Services / Estates environment, ideally within healthcare or a similarly regulated sector.
*Demonstrable experience supervising and managing specialist subcontractors.
*In-depth knowledge and practical application of HTMs relating to water systems. Experience managing closed water systems, including LTHW and CHW circuits and dosing regimes.
*Demonstrable water hygiene and water systems engineering experience. An understanding of waterborne pathogens, microbiology principles, and infection risk control.
*Minimum Health & Safety qualification: IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
