Job Description:
Procurement Officer
*Job Type: Initial 4-month Temporary Contract
*Organisation: Warrington Council
*Pay Rate: £22.34 per hour (PAYE)
*Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2-days in office)
Warrington Council are seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer to support and guide various services in effective and compliant procurement and tender processes. This role is crucial for ensuring that procurement approaches are legally compliant and align with the organisation’s constitution, aiming to meet specified needs efficiently.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Support, advise, and guide services on effective and compliant procurement and tender processes for a range of supplies and services.
*Ensure procurement approaches are legally compliant and meet the organisation’s constitutional requirements.
*Review and evaluate performance and outcomes of procurement and tendering activities, considering cost, savings, and process efficiency.
*Communicate regularly with services, providing timely updates to maintain effective procurement practices.
*Coordinate and deliver targeted training related to procurement, commissioning, and tendering.
*Engage with potential and current suppliers to provide pre and post-tendering advice and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in procurement and tender processes.
*Strong understanding of legal compliance in procurement.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Proficient in using procurement systems and related software.
