Sharp Consultancy are working with a growing owner managed manufacturer in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and support the business through its next phase of growth.
This is a hands-on role in a well established SME environment, where you’ll work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, providing meaningful commercial insight.


The business has built a strong reputation within its sector through quality, service and long standing customer relationships, and now requires a Finance Manager capable of improving visibility and helping drive better decision-making across the operation.
You’ll lead the day-to-day finance function while also playing a key role in operational and strategic conversations. The successful candidate will enjoy being close to the business, alongside communicating confidently with non-finance stakeholders and is comfortable operating in a manufacturing environment.




Key Responsibilities
*Production of monthly management accounts with meaningful commentary and analysis.
*Cash-flow forecasting, working capital management and KPI reporting.
*Business partnering with sales, operational and production teams.
*Margin analysis, stock reporting and manufacturing cost control.
*Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
*Overseeing transactional finance and improving financial processes.
*Supporting year-end activities and liaising with external accountants.
*Providing commercial support to senior leadership around performance and investment decisions.
The Person
*Qualified or qualified by experience finance professional
*Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering environment
*Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence stakeholders
*Comfortable operating in a hands-on, broad finance role
*Strong Excel and systems capability
*Proactive, pragmatic and capable of working with autonomy
