Job Description:
The Pastoral Leader role is focused on supporting the personal, emotional, behavioural, and academic development of pupils, particularly those facing barriers to education. The role involves overseeing a caseload of students, supporting attendance, behaviour, safeguarding, and reintegration into mainstream or specialist education settings.
Key responsibilities include:
*providing pastoral and behavioural support to vulnerable pupils,
*implementing trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches,
*managing safeguarding concerns alongside the DSL team,
*leading multi-agency meetings and working closely with families and external agencies,
*monitoring attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing data,
*and developing individual support, reintegration, and harm-reduction plans.
The role requires someone with strong experience working with young people in education, youth work, social care, SEND, or alternative provision settings. The ideal candidate will have:
*excellent safeguarding knowledge,
*strong emotional intelligence,
*experience managing challenging behaviour,
*and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
