Head of Damp, Mould & Disrepair

Rate: £630 per day
Contract: 3 - 6 Months


Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an interim Head of Damp, Mould and Disrepair to lead a high-profile service within a housing provider. This role reports into an Assistant Director and carries responsibility for leading a team of circa 10 and overseeing delivery through directly employed operatives and contractors.
The postholder will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate record keeping, strong governance and delivery that meets statutory requirements, including Awaab’s Law and wider housing disrepair expectations.
Responsibilities include
*Leading the Damp, Mould and Disrepair service, team performance and operational delivery
*Overseeing delivery via direct labour and contractors, including performance management
*Ensuring robust record keeping and evidence trails to support statutory compliance
*Working with key stakeholders across property services to manage risk, priorities and reporting
*Driving continuous improvement across processes, controls and customer outcomes
About You
*Senior leadership experience within social housing property services (repairs, disrepair, damp and mould)
*Strong working knowledge of Awaab’s Law and disrepair compliance expectations
*Proven experience leading teams and managing contractor delivery
*Confident operating in a high-scrutiny environment with complex cases and stakeholder demands
*Comfortable in an on-site, hands-on leadership role
