Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler in South Shields. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
Responsibilities
*Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
*Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of shipments against documentation.
*Operate forklifts (Counterbalance - B1 ) and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
*Prepare materials for storage or shipment as required.
*Maintain an organised warehouse environment, ensuring that all materials are stored correctly.
*Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate.
*Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
*Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency in material handling processes.
Experience.
*Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is a must - Counterbalance Licences.
*Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
*Proven ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
