Job Description:
Integration, Test & Proving Engineer
Based in Stevenage
Salary up to £50,000, bonus, 14% pension, paid overtime, flexi leave
On-site 4–5 days a week
You know that moment when the kit finally behaves exactly as the design said it would?
That’s this job, except it’s on a frontline UK defence system.
You’ll be the engineer proving it works in practice, not just on paper. Designing trials, building setups, running tests in the lab, pulling the data apart, then explaining what it means clearly enough that the programme can certify, release, and move forward.
What you’ll be doing
*Designing functional trials, test methodology, stimuli, and setups from use cases and requirements
*Owning trial readiness, configuration control, safety, and test integrity
*Getting hands-on with rigs, lab equipment, work-up, robustness testing, and formal qualification activity
*Logging issues properly, analysing results, and writing reports people actually use
*Acting as the glue between software and equipment teams, because you’ll know how the product behaves for real
What we’re looking for
*Practical, hands-on integration and test experience across hardware and software
*Confidence with general lab test equipment
*Methodical approach, solid documentation habits, and good engineering judgement
*Comfortable analysing complex data, Python/MATLAB helpful, not essential
*Degree, or equivalent depth, in Electronics, Electrical, RF, Physics, Software, or similar
Security Clearance
You’ll need British citizenship or be a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
If you’re done with theoretical engineering and want to be the person who proves it works, this is the one
