Job Description:
Job Title: Assembly Operative (Engineering)
Pay Rate: £13.08 per hour (PAYE)
Working Pattern: 4-day week, Monday to Thursday
Hours: Typically full-time (exact shift times to be confirmed)
Location: On-site manufacturing/engineering environment


Job Purpose
The Assembly Operative will be responsible for assembling mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components to engineering drawings and work instructions, ensuring products are built safely, accurately, and to required quality standards.


Key Responsibilities
*Assemble components and sub-assemblies using hand tools and basic power tools
*Follow engineering drawings, schematics, and written work instructions
*Carry out visual and basic functional checks to ensure product quality
*Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area at all times
*Report faults, defects, or shortages to the team leader or supervisor
*Work collaboratively with other operatives, engineers, and production staff
*Adhere to health & safety, quality, and company procedures


Skills & Experience
Essential:
*Previous experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or engineering environment
*Basic understanding of mechanical assembly processes
*Ability to read and follow instructions accurately
*Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
*Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Desirable:
*Experience working from engineering drawings
*Knowledge of basic quality inspection processes
*Background in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical assembly
