Secondary English Teacher
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (national teacher pay scales)
A secondary school in Swindon is looking for a passionate English Teacher with a Literature specialism to join their team this September. This role focuses on teaching A Level Literature, giving you the opportunity to inspire students and deepen their understanding of classic and modern texts.
About the RoleWe are supporting a school seeking a teacher to deliver high-quality Literature lessons at KS5. You will guide students through A Level texts, develop their critical thinking and analytical skills, and help them achieve excellent exam outcomes. There may also be opportunities to support KS4 English lessons if required.
Key Responsibilities*Teach A Level English Literature
*Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop analytical and critical thinking skills
*Support student progress, attainment, and wellbeing
*Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to enhance curriculum delivery
Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Strong subject knowledge of English Literature at A Level
*Experience teaching KS5 students (KS4 experience desirable)
*Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
