Senior Management Accountant (Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover)

The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established, fast-paced organisation on a fixed term basis (up to 10 months) to cover maternity leave.
This is a key role within the finance team, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and quickly add value in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities*Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines
*Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations
*Deliver budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts in collaboration with operational teams
*Provide variance analysis with clear, actionable insights
*Support year-end audits and statutory reporting
*Act as a finance business partner to operational stakeholders
*Produce detailed cost analysis (including labour, overheads, and product costing)
*Monitor and report on key performance indicators
*Drive improvements in financial controls, processes, and reporting
*Support finance system enhancements and integrations
*Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
*Mentor junior finance team members and build strong cross-functional relationships
About YouEssential*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
*Strong experience in a management accounting role
*Proven background in budgeting and forecasting
*Excellent balance sheet and reconciliation skills
*Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
*Strong Excel and financial systems expertise
*Able to start at short notice or immediately available
Desirable*Experience in a complex, fast-moving business environment
*Exposure to organisations undergoing change or transformation
