Job Description:
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEN
Havering, Essex
We are seeking a caring, proactive, and resilient SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school in Havering. The role involves supporting students with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, both inside and outside the classroom.
You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students to engage positively with learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals.
Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting pupils with SEN during lessons and school activities
*Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions
*Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
*Assisting students with communication, organisation, and learning tasks
*Supporting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The ideal candidate will have:
*Experience working with children or young people with SEN or additional needs
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
*A genuine passion for supporting young people
Previous experience in schools, care, youth work, mentoring, or support work is desirable. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.
