Warehouse Operative
Location: Letchworth Garden City
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £14.00 - £15.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary Position
SMT Recruitment are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative on behalf of our client based in Letchworth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous warehouse or logistics experience looking to join a busy and supportive operations team.
Key Responsibilities
·Receiving and booking in goods upon delivery
·Conducting initial goods-in inspections
·Moving stock within the warehouse safely and efficiently
·Picking and packing customer orders accurately
·Preparing goods for dispatch
·Completing stock and inventory checks
·Ensuring customer orders are fulfilled to required standards and timescales
·Maintaining a clean and organised warehouse environment
·Following all warehouse health and safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required
·Previous warehouse, logistics, or dispatch experience
·Experience with picking, packing, and goods-in processes
·Basic understanding of stock control and inventory checks
·Good communication and teamwork skills
·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
·Basic IT and Excel knowledge beneficial
·Forklift Truck Licence advantageous but not essential
