Health & Safety Advisor (QHSE)
Location: Melksham
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 DOE
Full-time | Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing manufacturing business, supporting the Head of QHSE in maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing working environment.
This is a key role where you will act as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters, helping to drive a strong safety culture across the business.
The Role
You will play a hands-on role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, while actively supporting continuous improvement across site operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work
*Investigate accidents, near misses, and non-conformities
*Manage COSHH assessments and control hazardous substances
*Oversee PPE selection, issue, and training
*Manage contractor activities, including RAMS and permits to work
*Coordinate inspection, servicing, and testing of equipment (including PAT testing)
*Support DSE assessments for employees
*Carry out internal audits, HSE inspections, and environmental monitoring
*Support ISO management systems and compliance activities
About You
*Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role
*Strong knowledge of ISO45001 / OHSAS18001
*Recognised H&S qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, IOSH)
*Experience conducting audits and investigations
*Confident using Microsoft Office and systems
*Proactive, organised, and able to influence at all levels
Desirable:
*IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
*Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001
