Maintenance Operative Luton
Full Time Permanent Role
8am - 5-pm Monday to Friday
Salary depending on experience
Maintenance OperativeLocation: Luton Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00
About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Luton. This is a hands-on, all-round maintenance role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping a site running smoothly. You’ll be involved in day-to-day reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of plant, equipment and facilities.
This is a great opportunity for someone with broad practical skills who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities*Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across plant, machinery and site facilities
*Respond to breakdowns and fault-find to get equipment back up and running with minimal downtime
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to keep equipment in good working order
*Assist with the installation of new equipment when required
*Support minor project and improvement work as directed
*Keep basic maintenance records and logs up to date
*Carry out work in line with health and safety procedures at all times
*Liaise with contractors and suppliers when specialist support is needed
*Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment
*Cover and support colleagues where needed and contribute positively to the team
About YouEssential:
*Some previous experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
*Practical, hands-on approach with good all-round maintenance skills
*Ability to fault-find and problem-solve on a variety of equipment
*Good communication skills and a reliable, flexible attitude
*Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
*Experience with planned preventative maintenance
*Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical systems
*Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
