Job Description:
Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Location: Rockliffe Hall, Darlington
Salary: £28,00 to £30,200 per annum
Hours: Fulltime – 40 hours per week, including weekends
Reporting to: Executive Housekeeper and Deputy Housekeeper
Responsible for: Housekeeping Supervisors, Housekeeping Team Members, General Assistants, Late Maids and Public Area Cleaners
Job Purpose:
We’re looking for an experienced, highly organised, Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our award-winning Housekeeping Team. This role will support the housekeeping leadership team with the day-to-day running of an established department and to deputise in their absence.
Key responsibilities of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager:
*Assist with the efficient running of daily operations of the housekeeping department
*Ensure the quality of service in the housekeeping department surpasses the expectation of guests and standards are constantly 5 Red Star
*Help ensure the team consistently delivers exceptional standards of cleanliness and outstanding guest service for both guests and members, in line with our 5-star standards
*Work closely with other departments to coordinate Guest arrivals and departures
*Establish working methods to minimise waste and manage costs within agreed budgets
*Adjust the rota accordingly to meet the needs of the Business
*Attend operations meetings and react to inter-departmental needs and requests
*Delegate tasks to ensure team members can contribute the best they can with their skills, knowledge and attitude
*Excellent communication skills both with guests and colleagues at all levels whilst always maintaining a level of professionalism
*Assist with the daily housekeeping operations by distributing Room lists to team members and informing team members of their allocated daily tasks
*Communicate daily events to the team and any special guest requests or requirements
*Carry out and ensure that regular on-the-job training is taking place to agreed standards and identify areas of poor performance and provide coaching / mentoring where needed to ensure 5-star service
*Monitor team members training progress on Flow Hospitality
*Set clear daily objectives and provide direction to Housekeeping team members
*Ensure team members interact with Guests in a way which reflects our brand standard
*Ensure trace reports from reception are communicated to the team
*Ensure that any potential and actual hazards are reported immediately
*Understand and comply with the company’s fire evacuation procedure
*Work in safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others
*Maintain own working area in line with ’clean desk policy’, keeping materials clean, tidy and in good shape and report any defective materials and equipment to the manager
*Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct
