Manufacturing Operative
Location: Frome
Johnson Controls Frome is a high-pressure diecasting foundry, manufacturing sprinkler frames for the global market. We are looking for a Manufacturing Operative to join our team on a continental shift pattern. This is a hands-on role within a busy manufacturing environment, where safety, quality, and teamwork are key to our success.
You will work a 12-hour continental shift pattern (4 on / 4 off, including night rotation).
What You Will Do
*Work as part of a shift team to manufacture components in line with the production plan
*Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively
*Carry out checks to ensure product quality meets required standards
*Support smooth production flow by highlighting issues and helping reduce downtime
*Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
*Follow all site and group Environment, Health & Safety policies and procedures
How You Will Do It
*Work safely at all times, following training and site procedures
*Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors on shift
*Take responsibility for your own tasks while supporting the wider team
*Identify and report hazards, unsafe practices, or quality concerns
*Contribute to a positive, cooperative team environment focused on continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For
Essential:
*Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
*A strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
*Ability to follow procedures while working independently when required
*A reliable, practical, and proactive approach
Desirable:
*GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
*Experience working with machinery or within a foundry/industrial environment
*An interest in continuous improvement and learning new skills
