Job Description:
NQ Employment Solicitor Northampton | £38,000 – £45,000
Legal 500 recognised employment work with genuine work-life balance.
The Firm
What if you could join a firm that offers high-quality employment work without the bureaucracy and pressure often found in larger national practices? This long-established East Midlands law firm has built an outstanding reputation across the region, combining decades of heritage with a modern and people-focused culture.
Recognised by The Legal 500 across multiple practice areas, the firm’s Employment team is particularly well regarded for its commercially minded advice and strong client relationships. With a diverse client base ranging from SMEs to larger regional businesses, the team handles a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, giving lawyers the opportunity to develop genuinely rounded experience.
Known for its collaborative environment and supportive leadership, this is a firm where career progression and work-life balance are seen as complementary rather than competing priorities.
The Role
*Join a respected and well-established Employment team handling a broad range of quality work.
*Advise both employers and employees across contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
*Manage tribunal matters from initial instruction through to resolution.
*Provide strategic HR and employment law advice to a varied commercial client base.
*Work on settlement agreements, disciplinaries, grievances, discrimination claims, restructures and TUPE matters.
*Looking for a role with genuine variety and autonomy as you qualify? This opportunity offers both.
*Build long-term client relationships while developing your own professional profile within the region.
*Work closely with experienced colleagues in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
You
*Newly Qualified Solicitor or soon-to-qualify trainee with Employment Law experience during training.
*Comfortable managing matters with appropriate supervision and support.
*Strong communication skills and a commercial, pragmatic approach.
*Interested in both contentious and advisory employment work.
*Want to join a firm where your contribution is recognised and progression feels achievable rather than promised?
*Keen to be part of a friendly and ambitious team with a strong regional reputation.
Benefits
*Legal 500 recognised team.
*Genuine emphasis on work-life balance and employee wellbeing.
*Life assurance.
*Holiday buy and sell scheme.
*Salary sacrifice car scheme.
*Company pension scheme.
*Paid volunteer leave.
Could this be the move that gives you the quality of work you want alongside the balance you’ve been missing?
