About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching or those with experience working with young people.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-set work
*Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
*Ensure a positive and productive learning environment
*Support students in completing tasks and understanding instructions
*Report back on pupil progress and behaviour
*Contribute to the wider school community where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
*Experience working with young people (school-based or similar)
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Confidence managing groups of students
*A calm, proactive, and flexible approach
*A genuine interest in education
*A degree (desirable but not essential)
