Full job descriptionThe Senior Finance Assistant role involves overseeing financial operations and supporting the contract manager and the operations team to improve the financial performance of the contract, by producing analysis on data and providing insight into potential savings. This position is ideal for someone with strong experience in accounting and finance who is looking for a permanent opportunity with hybrid working options.

This opportunity is with a well-established organisation within the business services industry. The company operates as part of a medium-sized team in the accounting and finance department, delivering high-quality financial support and solutions.
Description
· Preparation of detailed monthly savings files in line with Open Book Contract terms.
· Reconciling and Validation of information and Trust data, to calculate and analysis potential savings and challenge back any anomalies
· Support in the resolution of supplier queries and supplier data and management fee billing
· Attend meetings with internal stakeholders and be finance lead
· Approval of sales invoices and credit notes
· Closing monthly accounts ensuring sales and costs are accurately and appropriately recognised
· Preparation of Monthly Business Review/ Commercial Strategies for internal and external use
· Control the monthly management accounting processes, including necessary accruals and prepayments
· Work closely with the Leadership Team and Client to produce annual Target Costs and Target Savings by Service Period
· Manage and report monthly actual costs against target costs, meeting client format requirement and deadlines
· Manage and report monthly actual saving against target savings, meeting client format requirement and deadlines
· Continual liaison with client Savings Team to provide information on savings that allow for client validation
· Continually review and improve processes to ensure an efficient approach
· Liaise with client to resolve any queries


Profile
A successful Senior Finance Assistant should have:
*A strong background in accounting and finance, particularly within the business services industry.
* Excellent attention to detail
*Highly numeric with excellent analytical skills
*Ability to communicate oral and written information concisely and logically
*Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence internal and external parties
*Advanced Excel Skills (lookups, pivot tables, sumif/s index & match)
*Able to use initiative and innovative thinker
*A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
*Desired SAP user
