Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and patient Functional Skills Tutor to provide tailored English and Maths support to a male student in Sutton. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, structured sessions that build confidence, improve core skills, and support the learner’s individual educational goals.
This is a part-time position suitable for an experienced tutor, teacher, or learning support professional with a strong understanding of Functional Skills delivery.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver 1:1 Functional Skills English and Maths sessions
*Plan and adapt lessons to meet the student’s learning needs and ability level
*Support the development of literacy, numeracy, communication, and confidence
*Monitor progress and maintain brief session records
*Create a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment
*Encourage motivation, engagement, and independent learning skills
Requirements*Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and Maths
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Patient, reliable, and adaptable approach
*Ability to engage and motivate learners on a 1:1 basis
*Relevant teaching, tutoring, or educational qualifications preferred
*Enhanced DBS check preferred or willingness to obtain one
Working Hours*4 days per week
*2:00pm - 6:00pm
*Total: 16 hours per week
