Full job descriptionA rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Solicitor to join a highly regarded law firm in Bracknell with a mandate to establish, build, and lead a brand-new Family Law department from the ground up.
This role offers significant autonomy and is ideal for a Senior Family Solicitor or existing Head of Department who is commercially driven and looking to create something of their own, with full backing from an established firm.
The Opportunity
*Set up and lead a new Family Law department with full strategic control
*Build your own team, processes, and client base
*Join a firm with an existing client network to cross-sell Family services
*Develop a long-term department growth plan with clear support from senior leadership
*Genuine opportunity for Partnership and equity progression
Key Responsibilities
*Establish and grow the Family Law offering
*Manage a caseload of privately funded matters, including:
*Divorce and separation
*Financial remedy and high-net-worth cases
*Private children matters
*Cohabitation disputes and pre/post-nuptial agreements
*Lead business development and networking activities to generate work
*Recruit, train, and manage junior fee earners and support staff
*Implement systems, compliance, and best practices for the department
*Work closely with senior management on strategy and growth
About You
*Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 6+ years PQE in Family Law
*Proven experience handling a broad and complex family caseload
*Strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial mindset
*Experience in building client relationships and generating work
*Previous leadership experience ideal, but ambitious Senior Solicitors stepping up will be considered
*A desire to build and lead a successful department long-term
