Full job description Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Doncaster
£39,890 + 8.5% all-inclusive allowance
Hours & Shift Pattern*148 hours over a 4-week rota
*Includes 2 weekends working, 2 weekends off
*Shift patterns:
*7am – 3pm
*2pm – 10pm
*Sleep-in shifts (2pm – 11pm)
*In absence of the Registered Manager: 8am – 4pm shifts
About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a Children’s Residential Home in Doncaster.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager, playing a key role in the day-to-day management of the home. In their absence, you will take full responsibility for the service, ensuring high-quality care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
This is a rewarding leadership role where you can make a real impact on the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities*Support the overall management and efficient running of the home
*Lead on safeguarding practices and ensure compliance at all times
*Develop and monitor high-quality, individualised care plans
*Supervise, support, and develop the staff team
*Manage rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels
*Conduct audits and drive continuous quality improvement
*Build strong partnerships with families, professionals, and external agencies
*Support recruitment, induction, and training of staff
*Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards
*Act as building manager, ensuring Health & Safety, Fire, and Environmental compliance
About You*Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within children’s residential care
*Experience supporting young people with complex and challenging behaviours
*Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and quality standards
*Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
*Flexible and resilient, with the ability to respond to crisis situations
Qualifications*Level 3 QCF Children & Young People (or equivalent) – desirable
*Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Care) – desirable
*Willingness to undertake further training, including physical intervention where required
