Full job description Birmingham | Full-Time | Circa £30,000 (or hourly equivalent)
We are currently recruiting for a Bursar’s Assistant to join a welcoming and well-run school in Birmingham. This is a 3-month temp-to-perm opportunity, offering a varied role across HR administration, safeguarding, and wider operational support.
Working closely with the Bursar and senior leadership team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing contracts and HR documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
*Maintaining HR, safeguarding, and compliance records (including the Single Central Register)
*Keeping all compliance documentation up to date and aligned with regulations
*Providing general administrative support across the Bursary function
*Supporting reception cover when required
What We’re Looking For
*Highly organised, reliable, and able to work independently
*Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information
*Confident communicator with a proactive approach
*Previous HR or administrative experience desirable

*Flexible working hours (core hours 8:30am–5:00pm)
*Salary circa £30,000 (or hourly equivalent)

Compliance Requirements (Essential)
Due to the nature of the role within education, strict safeguarding compliance applies:
*Enhanced DBS check including Child Barred List is essential (must be on the Update Service or willingness to obtain)

*Willingness to complete safeguarding training
