OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily workshop operations within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of welders and fabricators, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor with a strong fabrication and welding background looking to progress within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities*Manage and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations
*Supervise and support a team of welders and fabricators
*Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to engineering specifications
*Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans
*Allocate workloads and monitor productivity across the shop floor
*Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship
*Support production planning and delivery schedules
*Order, organise, and manage materials and stock levels
*Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and company policies
*Assist with training and development of workshop personnel
*Liaise with management and other departments to ensure smooth operations
Experience & Skills Required*Previous experience in a Fabrication Supervisor or Workshop Supervisor role
*Strong fabrication and welding background within an engineering environment
*Experience with mild steel and aluminium fabrication
*Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
*Strong leadership and team management skills
*Excellent organisational and communication abilities
*Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
*Knowledge of health & safety regulations within manufacturing/workshop environments
*Forklift licence or additional engineering qualifications beneficial but not essential
Qualifications*Engineering or fabrication-related qualification preferred
*Welding/fabrication certifications advantageous
