We’re working with a highly regarded accountancy practice that is looking to appoint a Business Services Associate to join its growing team in London. This opportunity would suit a graduate, AAT student or early-career accounting professional looking to gain broad exposure across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and management reporting while studying towards a professional qualification.
You’ll join a supportive environment where learning is encouraged, development is structured, and experienced professionals are on hand to help you progress both technically and professionally.
The Role
As a Business Services Associate, you’ll work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders across a range of sectors. You’ll gain hands-on experience across core accounting disciplines while developing strong client-facing skills.
Key responsibilities include:
*Preparing statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio
* Completing bookkeeping assignments and maintaining accurate financial records
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Assisting with the production of management accounts
* Reconciling balance sheet and control accounts
* Supporting senior team members with client projects and ad-hoc assignments
* Building positive relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
* Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
About You
We’re keen to speak with individuals who are ambitious, eager to learn and looking to establish a successful career within accountancy practice.
You’ll ideally have:
*A strong academic background
* Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment or a genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
* The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* A proactive and positive approach to learning
It would be advantageous if you are currently studying towards, or have completed, the AAT qualification.
