Full job descriptionAutomotive Learning Coach (HGV & Trailer Focus)Location: Winsford (primarily on-site with some hybrid travel)
Salary: £35,459 – £39,459 per annum + £3,000+ car allowance
Hours: 37 hours per week
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Automotive Learning Coach with a strong understanding of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), buses, and trailers to support apprentices in a workplace setting.
This role is primarily based on-site in Winsford, working closely with a single employer and their cohort of approximately 40 learners. The remaining time will involve a hybrid approach, including on-site coaching and occasional travel where required.
You will play a key role in guiding learners through their apprenticeship programmes in heavy vehicle manufacturing, service, and maintenance, supporting both practical and knowledge-based development.
Key Responsibilities*Coach and support apprentices in automotive (HGV, bus, and trailer) environments
*Deliver on-site learning, assessment, and progress reviews
*Observe learners in the workplace and provide structured feedback
*Assess competence against apprenticeship standards
*Support learners with both mechanical and engineering-based elements of their training
*Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement
*Build strong relationships with employers and learners
*Manage your own schedule effectively across on-site and hybrid delivery
Programmes DeliveredYou will support learners working towards the following apprenticeship standards:
*Bus and Coach Engineering Technician (Skills England)
*Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Skills England)
Requirements*Previous experience within education, training, or a teaching/coaching role (essential)
*Strong industry knowledge of HGVs, buses, and trailers
*Understanding of vehicle maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering principles
*Ability to support learners working in both mechanical and engineering contexts
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required
Qualifications*Teaching and/or assessor qualification (desirable but not essential)
*Relevant automotive or engineering qualifications
*Salary banding will depend on teaching and assessing qualifications
