Location: Runcorn, Cheshire
Type: 3 Months FTC
We’re working with a specialist engineering manufacturer investing in the development of its finishing processes. This is an opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to take ownership of a real-world project and build hands-on experience in a production environment.
The Role
You will support and lead practical work to improve and develop finishing processes, working closely with experienced engineers on the shop floor.
Responsibilities include:
*Assisting in the development of new finishing techniques
*Supporting trials of materials, methods, and equipment
*Working closely with production teams to understand current processes
*Gathering data, analysing results, and suggesting improvements
*Contributing to the creation of standard processes and best practice
This is a hands-on role with strong exposure to manufacturing operations.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
*Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science or similar
*Strong problem-solving mindset
*Willingness to learn and take ownership of a project
*Confident communicator, able to work with shopfloor teams
*Practical, proactive approach
Desirable:
*Placement or internship experience in manufacturing
*Interest in materials, finishing processes, or production engineering
