Job Description:
Full job descriptionEnglish Teacher (QTS) – Job Description*Plan and deliver engaging and effective English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching where required.
*Prepare students for GCSE examinations and support them in achieving their academic potential.
*Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing regular feedback to support learning and development.
*Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining students.
*Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes high standards and student engagement.
*Implement the school’s behaviour policy consistently and maintain effective classroom management.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
*Contribute to departmental activities, meetings, parents’ evenings, and wider school life.
*Support students’ literacy development and encourage a passion for reading and English.
*Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures, reporting concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
*Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour, attendance, and student wellbeing.
