We are seeking a resilient and dedicated SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to work closely with students in a school setting in Bath (BA2). This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them succeed both academically and socially.
This is a highly rewarding position, ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are confident managing challenging behaviour while building positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
*Support students’ academic progress and emotional development
*Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
*Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
*Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
*Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
*Encourage social skills, confidence, and independence
Ideal CandidateWe welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, particularly those with experience in:
*Youth work / youth justice
*Security or military services
*Behaviour support or mentoring roles
You will also:
*Have experience working with challenging behaviour
*Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
*Be passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives
*Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Be adaptable and proactive in your approach
Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, or related fields are highly encouraged to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
