Description
*This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for processing the Directors and Management payroll as well as the effective operation of the payroll function and be accountable for ensuring that all relevant payroll deadlines are met.
*Provide leadership, guidance and support for a payroll team
*Drive continuous improvement processes in line with the needs of a growing large business and work collaboratively with other departments to solve problems
*Ensure the full reconciliation of payroll, in order to report accurately to HMRC and pensions providers. This will include the development and running of audit and exception reports, with overall responsibility for ensuring that any issues are investigated and resolved.
*Responsible for the administration of the company’s Pension and Insured Benefit Schemes (renewals), providing support to the CPO in maintaining relationships with providers, keeping knowledge up-to-date and communicating and implementing changes. Review current pension processes with the aim of meeting full audit and reconciliation processed to increase our overall performance.
*Provide expert and accurate pay and benefits advice to staff and ensuring that enquiries from external agencies are dealt with promptly and accurately.
*Must have experience in dealing with Acquisitions & TUPE transfers and be confident in advising the business on necessary and required activity.
Profile
A successful Payroll Manager should have:
*Ideally have a Payroll qualification - CIPP or equivalent experience
*Leadership and team development
*Demonstrate your work on previous medium to large Payrolls in the UK, with multiple PAYEs and payrolls
*Extensive knowledge of payroll systems, taxation and national insurance rules together (preferably with knowledge of time and attendance systems also)
*Change management experience
*Advanced excel skills
*Able to analyse payroll reports and provide reports and trends to the business
*Ability to work flexibly at peak times.
*Excellent customer services skills with a strong commitment to delivering solutions and improving processes
