An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher of Physical Education to join a thriving and well-resourced independent school in West Essex from September 2026.
The Role
We are seeking an outstanding practitioner to deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3-5, inspiring students of all abilities to develop a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity. The successful candidate will contribute to both the academic curriculum and the extensive co-curricular sports programme.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons
· Teach a range of sports and physical activities across age groups
· Contribute to GCSE and/or A-Level PE (where appropriate)
· Lead and support extracurricular clubs, teams, and fixtures
· Foster a positive, supportive, and high-achieving learning environment
· Take an active role in the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate Will:
· Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
· Have a strong subject knowledge and passion for PE and sport
· Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
· Be enthusiastic about contributing to school sport beyond the curriculum
· Show commitment to pastoral care and holistic student development
· Be a team player with strong communication skills
