Robert Walters - Financial Controller - Permanent - Hybrid - Solihull - £70,000 - £80,000 per annum
Our client, a growing SME business in Solihull, is looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and provide strategic insight to support continued growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to step into a broad leadership role within a dynamic and supportive environment that values initiative and rewards performance.




Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
*Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function within the business.
*Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
*Prepare and present management accounts with insightful analysis to senior leadership.
*Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
*Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with statutory requirements.
*Manage and develop a small finance team, providing coaching and leadership.
*Partner with key stakeholders across the business to drive commercial decision making.
*Oversee statutory accounts preparation and liaise with auditors.
*Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.
*Support strategic initiatives and business growth plans.
Key essentials of the Financial Controller:
*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
*Strong leadership and team management capabilities
*Advanced Excel and systems proficiency
