Surrey | 6 months (temp to perm) | £33.52 per hour


A senior opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Technical Project Manager to join a large NHS organisation’s Capital Projects Team. This role will play a key part in delivering a complex and high-value portfolio of estate developments.
The Role
You will lead the delivery of major capital schemes from inception through to completion, acting as a technical expert and supporting the wider capital programme.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading delivery of capital projects including new build, refurbishment, and backlog maintenance schemes
*Managing projects ranging from small works to multi-million-pound developments
*Providing technical expertise across disciplines
*Managing consultants, contractors, and procurement processes in line with frameworks and governance
*Overseeing budgets, business cases, and financial management of schemes
*Supporting strategic estate planning and capital programme delivery
*Leading stakeholder engagement across clinical, operational, and external partners
About You
We are seeking a technically strong and experienced project professional with leadership capability.
Essential:
*Degree (or equivalent) in construction, engineering, surveying, or related discipline
*Significant experience managing complex capital projects
*Strong commercial and budget management skills
*Experience within healthcare environments (knowledge of HTMs / HBNs)
*Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
*Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Desirable:
*Professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA)
*Knowledge of ProCure22 or similar frameworks
*Experience managing or mentoring junior staff
