Equivalent to approximately £30–£42 per hour
Location: South East London
Hours: Flexible Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities, but must be available a minimum of 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday during 9:00-16:00
New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced Tutors and Qualified Teachers to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people aged 11–25 across South East London.
Applicants must be confident delivering both English and Maths tuition as a minimum requirement. Experience supporting learners working towards KS2, KS3, GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications is essential.
This rewarding role is ideal for experienced Tutors, Qualified Teachers, HLTAs, Teaching Assistants, Learning Mentors, Youth Workers, and education professionals looking for flexible work that makes a genuine difference.
Many of our learners require additional support due to SEND, SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, anxiety, school avoidance, disrupted educational journeys, alternative provision placements, and EHCP-linked needs.
The Role
• Deliver personalised 1:1 English and Maths tuition
• Support learners working towards KS2, KS3, GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications
• Adapt learning to meet individual needs and abilities
• Build positive relationships that promote engagement and confidence
• Support academic progress, independence, and examination preparation
• Complete session reports and progress updates
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, Local Authorities, and other professionals
Tuition May Take Place In
• Learners’ homes
• Libraries
• Community venues
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and/or a minimum 1 year professional tutoring experience
Proven experience delivering both English and Maths tuition
Experience supporting learners at KS2, KS3, GCSE and/or Functional Skills levels
Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, or EHCP-linked needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one
Right to work in the UK
