We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support students within Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across the Greater Norwich area. These settings provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.
Every student has their own strengths, challenges, and learning journey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing the personalised support and encouragement needed to help young people thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities*Support students with a variety of special educational needs within specialist SEN school environments.
*Work closely with teachers and wider school staff to deliver individualised learning and behaviour support.
*Build positive, trusting relationships that help students develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
*Support the development of communication, social, emotional, and life skills alongside academic learning.
*Adapt activities and learning approaches to meet the individual needs of each student.
*Promote positive behaviour and help students develop effective self-regulation strategies.
*Encourage participation, engagement, and meaningful interaction with peers and staff.
What We’re Looking For*Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, care, youth work, support work, or SEN settings.
*A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
*Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children and young people.
*The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and positive in a dynamic school environment.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*A proactive attitude and willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
*A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements for this role, as travel to SEN schools across the Greater Norwich area will be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
